Heritage Room: Siti Rahmah

Heritage Room 3, named Siti Rahmah, was once the private chamber of the family’s eldest daughter. Located on the first floor, this room carries a gentle sense of dignity, romance, and lived-in history, offering guests an intimate connection to past family life at Tanah Embah.

At the heart of the room stands a heritage handmade wooden bed styled in the tradition of a wedding set. Once used by the youngest daughter, the bed is adorned with soft bridal materials and complemented by a signature red Tanah Embah bed runner, creating a warm, romantic atmosphere ideal for couples and honeymooners. Antique red pendant lights softly illuminate the space, enhancing its nostalgic charm without overwhelming its calm presence.

True to the living traditions of the past, the room does not feature modern wardrobes. Instead, wooden hooks are used for clothing, reflecting how daily life was once organised with simplicity and intention. Original windows, carefully preserved, frame views of surrounding greenery, including coffee, mulberry, and rambutan trees, allowing fresh air and natural light to flow gently through the room.

A special window faces the front entrance of the house, offering a unique perspective of arrivals and daily rhythms below. Positioned close to the main entrance and living room, Siti Rahmah remains connected to the heart of the home while still offering privacy and quiet.

The atmosphere here is calm, peaceful, and deeply grounding. It is a room made for slowing down, for sitting by the window, breathing in fresh countryside air, and allowing the stillness of heritage living to settle in.

Light quietly finds its way through original multi-coloured stained glass windows and the upper walls. As the colours shift through the day, they bring warmth and character to the room — a simple reminder of the house’s age, its craftsmanship, and the stories it has carried through time.
